The Umbral Anthologies
The Umbral Anthologies is the name for a nine-book series that follows the journey of seven Umbrals, Shadow Immortals, and the events surrounding the death of their race. Long ago, before humans founded their kingdoms, the Immortals ruled.
There are six races of Immortals, each connected to a primary element:
As humans crossed the wastelands to the south, they came upon the Immortal realms. Being a young and foolish race, they decided to wage war against the Immortals for territory. The war seemed childish to the Immortals, at first. It wasn't until the humans discovered a magical weapon that could kill the Immortals permanently that they began to take the war seriously. By that point, it was too late. The Solites were the first of the races to fall. The rest rallied behind the Umbrals, but one-by-one they retreated into their basest elements where the humans dared not follow. Only the Umbrals stood against the humans that outnumbered them by millions. The most elite fighting group the Umbrals had was known as the Forward March, carving its way through the human fronts.
The Forward March officially has only seven members, all Umbrals, but Sahra joined the group later on in the war after the death of her people. The Forward March is as follows:
Even still, the Forward March was not enough to win the war. Knowing that their race was all but destroyed, Nathaniel used eldritch magic, the magic of creation, to change each of them in turn. He stripped away their Immortality, giving them instead the resilient gift of Reincarnation. There were heavy prices, however. Only one could live on the physical plane at a time, while the rest would stay in a world between worlds called the Veil. When one falls, another would take their place in the world.
What follows are their stories.

Release Notes
While some of the stories in this series are ready, I am waiting to begin releasing them until more are ready so that there will be less of a wait time between new books. I'm doing this in a bid to avoid inordinately long times between book releases (*cough cough* G. R. R. Martin *cough cough*). I do not currently have a release date set, but sign up for my Mailing List to be kept aware of updates and sneak peeks. Thank you for your patience, I hope you love this series as much as I do.
