It has been a good year. My first book comes out in September, I've just started MFA Writing courses, moved quarter-way across the country, started a new job, and have been working like a mad man to get everything else in order. So! With that said, let's get into the interesting bits. Project Tartarus
Book 2 is still undergoing edits but is fully drafted. It's currently with some of my beta readers and I'm working on Book 3 while I await their feedback. In the meantime, I can share some fun facts about it. Book 2 is ~40% longer than Book 1 (Book 1: ~156k words, Book 2: ~220k words). Book 2 is darker in tone and content and eases up more on the notifications and gamelit aspects, while still using them where it makes sense. I have no hard dates for publishing book 2, but I'm hoping for Q2 2025. That will hopefully give me enough time to make necessary edits, have cover art prepared, and get back on Mikael's calendar for narration. Book 3 is approximately 20% of the way through first draft, sitting at a bit over 40k words. I'm happy with the overall direction the book is going and I have the ending planned out, it's just the tricksy middle that I'm working through. I expect progress to slow down a bit as I get used to all these major life changes, but fear not! I have no intentions of dropping the series. Short StoriesI've been working on short stories in downtime, several of which have been posted to my YouTube channel under my narration. These will be intermittent uploads as they do take a bit of time and effort to write, record, and produce. At some point, these short stories will be wrapped up in their own collections and made available for purchase but I don't currently intend to stop having them available on YouTube. How to SupportProject Tartarus: Arche is available for pre-order via eBook on Amazon. Right now, that's the best way to show support. Once it comes out, the best way you can show support is by leaving honest reviews on whatever service provided it to you and bugging your friends, family, coworkers, and social media followers to get it. I'm a small author and a team of one, I don't have the luxury of marketers or community managers. Getting the word out is a difficult thing, so if you enjoyed it and want to see the series thrive or would like me to be able to do this full-time, tell everyone you can about it. This is far from the only series I would like to publish and it's only through your support that I'll get the chance to do so in a reasonable timeline. This is also a huge monetary investment that has no promise of ever being paid back, which is only to say I have to budget for these things accordingly and that can delay schedules. Thank you.
